Introduction of Chairpersons

1. Dr. May CHUI

Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, HKU. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College and completed her M.S. and Ph.D. studies at Stanford University, and joined HKU in 2013. Her general research fields are hydrology and sustainable water resources engineering. She is an executive committee member of IAHR-APD (2015-) and the secretary of IAHR-HK (2014-). She was an associate editor of Hydrogeology Journal (2014 - Jan 2018).

2. Dr. HS LEE

Senior Environmental Protection Officer, Modelling Section, Water Policy and Science Group, Water Policy Division, Environmental Protection Department, The Government of HKSAR.

3. Dr. HF DUAN

Associate Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Dr. Duan received his PhD degree in Urban Hydraulics and Water Resources from HKUST with PhD Research Excellence Award in Engineering. His research focuses on pipe flow, stochastic modelling, coastal engineering, and computational fluid dynamics. He is an executive committee member of IAHR-HK and member of ASCE, IAHR, HKIS and ASME.

4. Dr. Ken WONG

Environmental Protection Officer, Smart Marine Environmental Management Section, Water Policy and Science Group, Water Policy Division, Environmental Protection Department, The Government of HKSAR.

5. Dr. Keane Yaohui LIU

Assistant Professor, Department of Construction Technology and Engineering, Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEI). Dr. Liu obtained his Master and PhD degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and joined THEI in 2014. His research interests focus on green roof and vertical greening, constructed wetland hydraulics, stormwater retention and reuse, water and wastewater treatment, sludge treatment and recover and odour abatement and removal.
